Position Purpose

The Curriculum Coordinator provides support services to the school's faculty and staff in order to meet the mission of the University.

Essential Functions


  • Responsible for managing all systems related to course/clerkship schedules, instructor/faculty class schedules and assessment administration.
  • Works closely with subject matter experts, consultants, and University faculty in various disciplines to develop instructional content and supporting materials for new course development, course maintenance and course revisions. Ensures course/clerkship and program content meets both academic and design standards as set forth by the University.
  • Assists faculty and/or other clinical staff with the planning and development of relevant classroom and clinical curricula, case studies, scheduling, and/or tutorials as appropriate to program objectives, protocol, and standards.
  • Serves as liaison between dean, faculty, clinical staff, tutors, and/or technical support staff in all aspects of the production and delivery of curriculum and related material.
  • Oversees the production, and publication of both printed and computerized copy and materials.
  • Schedules, organizes, and facilitates the delivery of curriculum and other educational programming.
  • Presents or assists in the presentation of established curriculum, as appropriate to the individual position.
  • Coordinates and assists faculty in the implementation of the all aspects of curricula.
  • Compiles information, updates, formats and edits, for grammar and accuracy, publications related to curriculum.
  • Coordinates publication of materials in consultation with appropriate resource persons.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains program databases and records systems.
  • May assist in the preparation of reports on educational activities and events.
  • Supports planning and delivery of Curriculum training as appropriate.
  • May attend and/or participate in related training programs and/or workshops.
  • Supports ongoing maintenance of technological platforms that will link course content, activities and assessments.


  • Supports various university publications such as CUSM course catalogs, Student Handbook and other internal and external material.
  • Organizes and attends meetings as requested. Provides information as requested.
  • Maintains filing system and prepares material for archiving.
  • Resolves related problems.
  • Uses word/data processing software and various computerized applications.
  • Orders and purchases project supplies and materials for the curriculum.
  • May travel to other relevant community venues, as required, in support of curricular activities.
  • Reserves audiovisual equipment and premises for academic purposes.
  • Applies knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Performs other related tasks as requested or assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Skill in effectively using a computer and applications such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
  • Skill in proofreading materials. Must recognize and correct errors in conformance to established standards & guidelines, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of Canvas LMS, Student scheduling and evaluation tools (e.g., OASIS), Web Conferencing tools (or similar tools).
  • Knowledge of developing publications, correspondence, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Ability to set up and maintain filing/records systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and records.
  • Ability to interact professionally with diplomacy, patience and courtesy with diverse groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely and accurate manner under pressure of deadlines, and with frequent interruptions and competing priorities.
  • Ability to adjust priorities quickly, multitask and have excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment providing support.
  • Ability to interpret policy and procedures related to the position and keeping others informed.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze information to define and follow up on problems or objectives.
  • Ability to identify solutions and independently act toward solving problems.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate and interact effectively with colleagues, faculty, students, and visitors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in education, training, instructional design, or related field and at least 3 years experience in a directly related role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, and the knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, Adult Learning Theories or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, emphasizing competency-based instruction.
  • Familiarity of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)

Working Environment

  • General office environment with low level noise.
