Position Purpose

The Clinical skills Coordinator will be expected to play an integral role in the clinical skills center that will be training medical students in clinical skills. The coordinator will be working with and reporting to the Manager of Clinical Skills.

Essential Functions

  • Provides administrative support to the Director of Clinical Skills and clinical skills team, in developing and implementing the clinical skills course.
  • Prepares student schedules and publishes in canvas.
  • Responsible for maintaining the equipment for the simulation laboratory and maintenance of laboratory inventory.
  • Creates a checklist on the B line system and ensures the system is functioning before every clinical skills session.
  • Monitors and assures appropriate standards of laboratory and OSCE room cleanliness, provides for equipment maintenance, repairs and replacement.
  • Responsible for the scheduling of standardized patient.
  • Assists the clinical skills team in organizing the clinical examination (OSCE).
  • Prepares for the simulation sessions and skills session, arranges task trainers.
  • Any other duties as may be appropriately assigned or required.
  • Maintains office hours for students.

  • Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excell, Access, PowerPoint)



  • Ability to learn and follow protocols
  • Ability to maintain all task trainers and other clinical skills equipment using appropriate protocols

Minimum Requirements

  • Associates Degree; or 3 years of clinical skills experience; or a combination of education and experience.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education environment
  • Experience in health professions education
  • Experience in working with students
  • Experience with B-line or equivalent video system of OSCE’s
  • Knowledge of clinical skills operations/procedures i.e. use of task trainer

Working Environment

  • General office and simulated clinical setting
